More Peas

Well peas are back on the menu and she really likes them. I found that everything is better with butternut! She has also been interested in putting her hands and mouth everywhere...not a shocker I am sure. Anyhow...she put her hand in the food bowl tonight and I am thinking "great what a good learning experience"...maybe I should have second thought that. She thought it was great to splash in the dinner that was on the highchair table. As you can see peas were everywhere...her forehead...my neck, chest and face, haven't checked the floor yet and not sure if I want to, but my hand got the worst of it as she decided to share the peas with me!

Sofia's room

I meant to post pics of her walls a while back. I got these wall decals from Pottery Barn and they rock. Plus now we can take them wherever we go and she can still have her same room. Thanks to Great Grandma for the double bows on her name...I sure can't tie those!
So recently I had to move her changing table to the floor...she is just to squirmy these days, and now that she is almost on the verge of figuring out she can move and crawl...she is aiming for the direction she wants to go and putting all her effort into getting there!

New Toys!

Well we have upgraded our toy selection....and the stackable bugs are my faves...Sofia giggled when I showed her the "big eyeballs" one in the middle of the picture...it was cute!
As usual Black Cat was standing in for Tom!

Netflix

This is what happens when you let your teething kid be entertained by holding the mail on the way home from the post office. Was easy to get the DVD out at least!

Dr. Visit

I forgot to mention the funny that happened at the last Dr. visit....
He asks "Does she laugh"
I respond "Well sometimes, but we try and try, but not much"
He replies "You might need to work on your timing"

The Purist

Well a few weeks ago I tried Gerber Organic Pears. It is hard to get decent produce here on base and just near impossible to get organic. Out in town it is just very expensive and I have no idea what the kanji is for organic....so. Pears are one fruit with high pesticide residues, so I really want to get organic...so I do. I read the label pears and vitamin C...ok that should be fine. Sofia doesn't think so, so I taste it and ewww...narly aftertaste and it is the vitamin C. I order Plum Organics Just Pears and Apples to see if she will like these. Read the label...and it really is just pears or just apples. Yep...she likes them, so I conclude that the kid is a purist. Cute! I tried it and yeah it is tasty! Very portable - squeezable pouch thingy. Highly recommend it.

Update

Here are a few pics....
My car - which I think I was supposed to post a way way long time ago. I still love it!
Black cat taking over as man of the house and enjoying babysitting duties while Tom is gone! Hysterical!

Sofia now sleeps in her crib for every nap!!!
Enter the Sleep Sheep by Cloud B!! This is one every parent needs! I am still wondering why I did not find and get this from the beginning!
This was the process:
I played the waves sound during breastfeeding and while she napped in my arms about 3 times. I was hoping she would associate the waves with cuddle time and feeding with mom - thanks Psych 101.
Then I tried one time to just feed her and put her in the crib with the waves playing, and holy crap Batman it worked!!
Now she easily goes into the crib, and my arms are free!! What shall I do with all this spare time now?? What is that you say? Ahh yes - showering and eating!!

Bathtime!

さくら Cherry Blossom Viewing

We went to Nago, which is 45 min north of us to view the cherry blossoms. It was great! Lots of stairs...lots and lots..my calves are still burning! Sofia had a great time looking at all the nature and spending some good quality time with Dad before he left...I enjoyed that, too! I made a friend on the way up the first set of stairs and she even recognized that I was nisei...or second generation Japanese...awesome! We ate at a little concession stand at the base of the entrance and it started pouring rain...I love this place!

Sunday afternoon

This afternoon Sofia discovered that boxes are seriously interesting...and contain stuff. We also went for a walk around the neighborhood and found a park and a horse!
Yes...this is what I am having for dinner now that Tom is gone..don't have time for real dinner anymore, but maybe in a few months I will have it together enough to eat properly!!
